The video of the fatal altercation between Tyre Nichols and Memphis police officers, which resulted in his death three days later, will be released by the city on Friday evening. The 29-year-old man was stopped by police on January 7th for alleged reckless driving, but details of what happened during the stop have been scarce. Initially, the police stated that Nichols fled on foot and a confrontation ensued while they attempted to detain him. However, Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis stated in a CNN interview on Friday morning that after reviewing available footage, they were unable to confirm the initial claim of reckless driving.
